![]() As soon as the music ends, Tails must perform a QTE to jump into a tunnel and escape if Tails fails, his death from the original creepypasta plays out. Tails runs for his life as Exeller mocks him with illusions and terrifying music starts to play. If Tails escapes, however, Exeller flies after the fox and grabs him, sending him to a burning forest in Angel Island. Tails can choose to go with Sonic or fly away. He tells him they need to get going as they have things to do, but the fox notices Sonic’s gloves are covered in blood, implying he was the killer. Tails creeps closer, but instead of catching Tails, Sonic wakes up from a nap and asks Tails what he is doing. The bodies are growing in number and becoming more gruesome as Tails goes further in, and he considers turning back before finding Sonic next to a palm tree. However, he is quickly and increasingly disturbed by the fact that the corpses of dead Animal Buddies are littering the area. Tails, in the Tornado, flies into Green Hill commenting on the beauty of the zone, and begins running through a field to look for Sonic. The screen then turns to black as a warning now pops up: three people are now in danger, and it is up to the player to ensure they live to see the next day. As a Flicky flies towards him, Exeller throws a ring at the creature, killing it. He comments the hedgehog will do as a vessel for now, but he will need more souls to reach it's full potential - much more. ![]() Meanwhile, we see Exeller, now in possession of Sonic's body. Tails panics and decides to investigate to see if Sonic is OK. Tails warns Sonic to be careful, with the hedgehog brushing the warning off, but shortly after the radio cuts off. Sonic notes that the entire zone seems empty but is intrigued by something: a strange black and red object in one of the palm trees. One late night, Sonic the Hedgehog is running through Green Hill Zone as Tails communicates with him via radio. This will allow the player to move on to the next level of the victim's solo route. ![]() If a victim has a Black Ring and survives alone then they will be able to hold off Exeller from killing them. Black Ring (or Blue Ring): A powerful ring created by Alice.Only found in It's Just Illusion and Mecha Green Hill Act 2. Sends Illusion, a ghostly appearance of Exeller, after the victim. Red Ring: A hazardous ring created by Exeller that throws the victim into an illusion.Green Ring: A powerful ring created by Alice, an unseen character, that allows Sonic to resist Exeller's possession and save the victim if they make a Bad Choice. They are most commonly found in Boss Levels. Normal Ring: Gives the victim an extra hit.Extra lives can be found in hidden monitors throughout the stages and increase the player's total number of lives by one. In some cases levels will restart upon death without a Continue Screen. If a character fails a stage and has more than one life left, the player is usually sent to the Continue Screen where they can choose if they want to try again, which costs a life, or just give up and accept the character's fate. There are also four difficulty options, which adjust the amount of lives you start with: Poor Child (15), Weak (10), Brave (5) and Nightmare (1). ![]() This is indicated if the player fails to get the Best Ending in Sky Sanctuary. Any ending other than the Best Ending results in Exeller using the souls of the dead characters to locate the survivors, killing them off screen. The game has eight endings based on how many characters escaped to Mountain Peak, the safe haven - the Worst Ending where nobody survives, three Solo Endings where only one character survives that require them to find a black ring, three Duo Endings where two characters survive and the Best Ending where everyone survives. In specific scenarios failing a stage will result in permanent death. A choices system is also present where the player must pick from two options: choosing the wrong option results in permanent death unless the character has found a green ring, in which case they will be saved. The characters all have their own unique playstyles and stages. The levels are filled with dangerous hazards, such as Exeller himself hunting the player, spikes, red rings that create deadly hallucinations and boss fights. Robotnik (plus Sonic in the game's intro) are all playable characters who must complete dangerous levels to escape from the game's antagonist, Exeller. The game is powered by Not So Simple Sonic Worlds, which tries to imitate the SEGA Genesis gameplay of the classic Sonic games, and is a survival-horror platformer. Both the final version of the English and Russian release of the game are free to download on Spirits of Hell's Game Jolt page, a link to it can be found below.
